The SMA Financial bureau supports a multitude of different financial markets, with customers from securities, treasury & derivatives, payments & cash management, and trade services industries. With more non-FSA regulated firms joining SWIFT in recent years, the bureau has provided a fast track to improved efficiency and reduced cost for payments processors and money transmitters. The value-add services such as sanction list checking are also a benefit to non-financial institutions, who now find themselves regulated.

Banks
The first customer to connect to SWIFT via the SMA Financial Bureau was a new start-up bank in the UK. Other new banks have since joined SWIFT on the Bureau for a fast-track, trouble-free implementation of FIN and other services.
